The Forge Motorsport FMTUBL9 has been designed for the Mercedes A45, GLA, CLA AMG stock turbo chargers. This turbo blanket is designed to isolate the radiant heat produced by the turbocharger by further insulating the OE heat shield, the Forge turbo blanket also incorporates further protection to the engines down pipe.⠀

This design has been created to withstand the harshest of environments and proven to withstand temperatures up to 1370°C (2500°F) of radiant heat, which will assist in protecting and prolonging the life of engine components.⠀

Design innovation keeps the heat of the exhaust gases contained within the hot side of the turbocharger, away from the cool side and the intake path which helps reduce turbo lag and air intake temperatures resulting in more power.⠀

*Please note that a turbo blanket will lose its flexibility over the first few heat cycles as the material cures, so once fitted it should not be routinely removed as this can cause damage to the blanket.⠀

🚨VW Golf Mk7.5R Stage1 ECU Software *Overboost

🚨VW Golf Mk7.5R Stage1 ECU Software *Overboost Fix⠀

⁣Elliot booked his clean Golf MK7.5 R in with us for a dyno run and logging session. He was questioning his previous map so we took some logs to find out what was actually going on with his tune.⠀
⠀
After reading through the logs and discussing with our software engineers we found the car was over-boosting in the mid range. There was also a little bit of knock in the engine which we put down to the car possibly still running stock plugs. We informed Elliot and he wanted us to fix the issue right away so we set about removing the map from his ECU.⠀
⠀
We then discussed our stage1 ecu calibration we can offer and he give us the go ahead to flash the car right away. Once we tuned the car, again we ran some logs to check everything was boosting correctly. We actually managed to squeeze out a little extra peak hp and got rid of the over-boost (see graph in post)⠀
⠀
He left with a strong stage1 ECU calibration which was dyno proven 361hp / 375 ft lbs torque. We also enabled some mild pops and bangs in race mode which are not so anti-social however loud enough to ⁣differentiate his car from a stock Mk7.5 R. The only modifications he has fitted are a full intake kit and resonator-delete. ⠀

If you would like to do something similar on your MQB car give us a call. we offer various software calibrations from stage1 all the way to stage3 including DSG/TCU software to match. If you have previously mapped your car and would like us to log the car, We can also offer this service as additional on our in-house 4WD dyno rolling road. ⠀

This free flowing single piece CNC mandrel bent pipe is a direct replacement for the OEM plastic intake pipe and restrictive resonator. These parts have been developed at Forge’s UK HQ in Gloucester. ⠀

This high flow intake pipe can be used with the OEM air box or alternatively with the full Forge intake system (FMINDF56). The intake pipe features CNC machined outlets therefore, any OEM plug-in parts (i.e. blow by heater and vacuum take off) are a no-hassle direct fit.⠀

Audi S3 Facelift visited for some power runs on ou

Audi S3 Facelift visited for some power runs on our 4WD dyno and a logging session. We previously supplied the customer with a Forge Carbon intake and a turbo inlet to intake hose elbow.

Unfortunately the S3 had been tuned by the previous owner and after taking some logs we had a brief talk with our software calibrator and found the map wasn’t so safe. we will try get a video up soon explaining.
P.S - It has already had a turbo replacement and we think the poorly tuned ECU software was the reason or definitely contributed.
